I get to…

The power of changing just one word.

Hi there everyone, hope you have had a great week – I am loving the feeling of being back in some kind of routine, definitely a creature of habit here! The kids were back at school and sports clubs so the house was quieter and it meant I actually did some painting and exercise which always makes a huge difference to how I feel. I also have been sticking to my 30 day reset challenge and trying to eat more healthily (no chocolate for starters – ok confession time – almost no chocolate, I did have a cheeky couple of squares of 70% dark chocolate after I put some into my chilli con carne. Surely dark chocolate is so good for you with all those flavanol antioxidants and it counts towards your 30 plant species a week so it doesn’t really count, that’s what I’m telling myself anyway). Other big news is that my deep sleep has been getting better and better all week so whatever I am doing is working, yay! I think it’s a combination of reading before bed (ie no phone) plus my healthier diet and I’m sure getting back to an exercise regime will have helped. You all know I’m a bit obsessed with my deep sleep so will be keeping you posted (yes even if you are not interested!)

As part of my 30 day challenge I have been attempting to be more grateful and there is one thing that I have found to make a big difference. Every time I hear myself say or think “I have to do …” or “I need to do …” I am trying to switch it up and reframe it/resay it to myself as “I get to do …”. I know it’s only a small hack but sometimes the little things make the most difference. I’m not saying I’m skipping off to do the laundry but in my head it definitely helps. Give it a try …

I have been focusing on holiday and location themed prints this week and absolutely loving doing them. I started with a London theme as a homage to one of my favourite places. I was born and grew up in London and it will always feel like home – I love the buzz the city has and it always feels magical when I go in for the day. Here are some of my London sketches/artwork, hopefully to be turned into a pattern soon.

Hope you have a great week. Don’t forget Carpe Diem (seize the day)!

With love,
